Wow. Portuguese street artist Vhils makes this incredible art by digging into plaster and brick and they are so scarily realistic. Now, the marketer in me is immediately thinking “why isn’t anyone sponsoring this guy?” followed immediately by… “who would be the ideal sponsor?”  Converse sponsored that tattoo artist from Mexico which was a pretty bold / great move. 
Vhils reminds me of that quote about Michelangelo saying that his sculptures were already in the stone and he just carved the stone to let them out.

Kelly Cutrone is sort of my hero.  First of all, there aren’t many female business owners out there that I want to be like.  I mean, it’s not really possible for me to be a Martha Stewart (not crafty enough) or a Kelly Ripa (I’m too grouchy).  I need someone a bit more…. imperfect to look up to.

Charles Bukowski is really one of my favorites so it’s him that I’m dedicating my most recent non-zen week to.  I have tried to be more simple, I did the right things, I read Zen Habits and Mnmlst all winter.  I pared down, spent less, saved (sort of…), said no at Anthropologie, Sephora, and Pier One.  I was a living simply, non buying, zen machine.
