This week we’ve been having some insane tornado-ish weather here so it’s been wonderful to watch. On the other hand, we’re looking for a new place to live (not fun), I’m trying to set up an office space (for my future new place that I haven’t found yet), and seriously haven’t been grocery shopping in 2 weeks (sad).
My new office isn’t going to have a desk, I’m going to use a drafting table like this one.

So last weekend was cabin weekend – I can’t wait to show you the post on the full trip. Let’s just say that I have some deficiencies in the “lawn games” department and I ate chicken gizzards ( yes you read that right). Anyway, this weekend I’m looking forward to long brunch, shopping with my sister (we always get a huge bag of sour patch kids) and of course the farmer’s market.

So, I’m going to a real cabin this weekend. Last week I was really excited. The beginning of this week I was really nervous. I know I’m from Wisconsin and we’re all supposed to have farms and eat bugs and stuff but I guess I missed out on the outdoorsy gene or something. The cabin belongs to a good friend of the New Jerseyite and his wife so we’re going with them. I already told the New Jerseyite the things that I won’t do, like pee outside or go outside …

This week was absolutely crammed full! I’m so glad the weekend is finally here although it’s shaping up to be really busy as well since the New Jerseyite’s parents are in town. Last night we had an amazing bottle of wine with dinner (Poggio Alla Guardia), it would be great for almost any occasion. Today we’re headed to Mineral Point to check out all the art galleries and they have an outdoor theater I’m hoping to catch a show at later.
Congratulations Charlotte, NC – Combos has named you …

You ever have 5 weekends in a row all planned out down to the minute and suddenly find yourself with one that’s deliciously unplanned? That’s this weekend! I’m going to try out a new recipe, head to the Farmer’s Market where I can just browse and get started on my new project.
I think it’s so interesting that “unplug” projects like these are gaining force. This one helps you start by turning off your phone. Truthfully, I just hate it when you’re telling someone a story and they are checking their …

If you haven’t been here on a Friday in a while, the Funrise is a collection of things to get you excited for the weekend (funrise, like sunrise is a word I read somewhere and liked).
This weekend, the New Jerseyite and I are headed to St. Louis to see my sister’s NEW house. We’re going to do some serious grilling and then we’re going to a fancy dinner here and probably on the beer tour here ( I am not such a beer fan but I heard you get to …

This short week had me feeling the most creative I’ve felt in a long time so I’ve been looking at a lot more art blogs and I’m just itching to see some artsy summer films to tell you about. Happy Funrise!

So, this week I met up with an old friend, had a long breakfast downtown complete with yummy doughnut sugar muffins (Marigold’s), and started a lot of projects. However, I still found a lot of cool things on the internets for Friday Funrise. Enjoy!
Footlocker puts out a really racy ad (for a shoe store). I’m wondering what kind of feedback they’ll get.
